I Volunteer
My recent volunteer focus has been supporting Bethel No. 53, Richmond, Virginia, of the International Order of Job’s Daughters. Job’s Daughters (Jobies for short) is a Masonic Youth Organization for girls aged 10-20 years old, similar to the Rainbow Assembly (Rainbow Girls), except members must be related to a Master Mason. Jobies helps girls learn confidence and leadership skills, the joy of volunteering and the rewards of fund-raising via their designated charity the HIKE Foundation. I’ve invested time creating their web site, developing, and presenting, a 6-hour training seminar on Project Planning & Organization, and created forms to help the girls plan various activities. I invest time as a chaperone and mentor, generally having a really wonderful time with the girls.
If your organization needs a website, I can’t do it for free but, I can do it inexpensively, please contact me so we can discuss how to make it happen.
I volunteer for…
non-profit organizations that encourage others to follow
their dreams. Is that you?
In addition to Jobies, I spent two school terms supporting the J.R. Tucker High School PTSA in the capacity of Newsletter Chair. I greatly enjoyed editing and publishing the joint school/PTSA newsletter which is made available for download via their website on a monthly basis.
I have an affinity with kids and teenagers; I speak the language of Teen. I’m very passionate about the importance of modeling good, positive and upbeat behavior, encouraging people to follow their dreams and find the path of their natural talents. Having raised a child with severe emotional disorders (anxiety, school phobia, ADD, etc.) I am very interested in supporting children with special needs.
If you think I can help your organization, please send me an email, you won’t know for certain if you don’t ask.
